We are happy that you are considering EFI as a future establishment to send your child to. With a 3 hectare campus, all the equipment on site, a staff turnover rate which remains low and 100% of our teachers qualified; our school benefits from the perfect environment for the development of your child.

Find below all our admission conditions organized by cycle. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Admission requirements for Nursery  – 18 months old

EFI accepts children from 18-months old into the TPS (nursery) if they meet the following conditions:

• Are 18 months old by August 28, 2023. Children can be admitted on the day they turn 18 months. Therefore, for the 2023-24 school year, only children born before February 28, 2022 are eligible for TPS/Nursery on the Back-to-School day. Children born after this date will have to wait until the day they reach 18 months.

Admissions during the school year are possible but subject to available places.

• Children must be sufficiently autonomous so that they can follow instructions given by the teachers and assistants and move around with the group.

• In TPS/Nursery, families can choose between half day and full day.

From PS/Pre-Kindergarten (3 years old) to GS/Senior Kindergarten (5 years old), there are no specific admission requirements.

Children enter the class that corresponds to their age on December 31 of the current year.

In PS/Pre-Kindergarten, families can choose between half day and full day.

Admissions during the school year are possible subject to available places.

Admission requirements for Cycle 1 – from Pre-Kindergarten to Senior Kindergarten

Admission requirements for Cycle 2 – from Grade 1 to Grade 3

Students are admitted after an interview with the school’s educational management according to the following conditions:

• Have a good recommendation from their previous school

• Have a solid enough grasp of French to be able to integrate into the French-taught classes. Families whose children do not have a sufficient level of French will be offered preconditions for the student’s admission such as: intensive French classes in the months leading up to the student’s admission, specific “intensive French” arrangements during the first months of school, possible French lessons outside the classroom. These arrangements will be jointly agreed upon between the school’s educational management and the family.

• Families whose children do not have a sufficient level of English will be offered pedagogical recommendations in order to ensure the good integration of the students at school.

Children enter the class that corresponds to their age on December 31 of the current year.

Admissions during the school year are possible subject to available places.

Admission requirements for Cycle 3, Cycle 4 and High School – from Grade 4 to Grade 11

Waiting list

Student admission decisions are made by the school’s Principal based on the criteria described above and on the number of places available in each class.

Once your enrollment form has been submitted, a decision will be communicated to you: admitted to the waiting list; conditionally admitted; not admitted.

The waiting lists functions in the following way: 

  • Priority 1: students already enrolled at EFI
  • Priority 2: brother or sister of student already enrolled at EFI
  • Priority 3: students who have been enrolled at EFI in the past
  • Priority 4: new students, through the process of submitting the full registration file to the school’s administration
