The coronavirus has reached our community. We understand your concerns and want to ensure our health and safety precautions address them appropriately.

As mandated by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, EFI, along with all other schools in Phnom Penh, will be closed effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. Students and parents are prohibited from entering the Bassac Garden and Koh Pich campuses effective immediately.

All EFI & CIS campuses are currently undergoing deep-cleaning managed by the school’s operation team. The school will continue the schedule of normal cleaning Monday to Friday and deep cleaning on the weekend while closed and once classes recommence. As an extra precaution, the school is being deep cleaned twice this weekend on Saturday, March 14 and again on Sunday, March 15.

EFI faculty and staff must be self-quarantined for a period of 14 days if they:

  • came within 1.5 meters of the staff member who tested positive for coronavirus for a period of 20 minutes or more between February 24 and March 9;  OR
  • developed symptoms of coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing and a fever of over 37.5 °C.

If any of our EFI community member experience symptoms related to coronavirus, please contact Elisabeth: 017 955 209, principal@efi.asia or Amaury: 089 884 968, amaury@efi.asia.

After the Cambodian government ordered all schools to close in Siem Reap, our academic team proactively developed distance learning plans for students from MS to Grade 6. Online learning will begin middle of next week. We have increased the internet bandwidth to ensure there are no interruptions with our server. If you have questions about how to navigate Seesaw or Google Classroom, please contact your child’s teachers. While at home, we still encourage all students to continue  practicing good hygiene by regularly washing their hands with soap.

Due to the sensitivity of school circumstances, we ask that you rely only on official updates from EFI and CIS. There has been a lot of misinformation circulating social media sites and we want to ensure our parents receive details that are accurate and concise.

We appreciate your commitment to EFI and allowing us to educate your children. Please know that these measures are taken with them in mind. We will keep all parents up-to-date on future developments. If you have any questions, please email contact@efi.asia.

Thank You,

EFI Leadership
