The Classes

For the 2021-22 school year, EFI welcomes about 150 students dispatched into 16 classes, from TPS / Nursery (from 18 month) to 3e / Grade 9 (13-14 years old). Each year, the school adds another grade, thus growing alongside its students. A 2nde / Grade 10 class will open for the 2022-2023 school year.

How many students per class?

Implementing differentiated learning in a bilingual learning context cannot happen in overcrowded classes. EFI has therefore made the choice to preserve reduced enrollment in each cycle at the start of the school year, and to limit the number of students admitted during the school year:

Cycle 1 (PS to GS – Pre-K to SK) and TPS (Nursery) : 15 students per class maximum at the beginning of the school year, with a possible addition of 1 to 2 students from January.

Cycles 2, 3 and Middle School (CP to 3ème – Grade 1 to Grade 9) : 17 students per class maximum at the beginning of the school year, with a possible addition of 1 to 2 students from January.

Composite Classes

Composite classes correspond well to our teaching philosophy. They foster the development of the children’s social skills (for example helping each other out and collaborations between the oldest and youngest students) as well as autonomy. When it comes to forming groups, these classes make it possible to assess the differences in maturity between certain students, and to distribute the number of students between each class in a more homogenous manner.
